This year, the controversy has started early as a producer has called out the organisers of the show for omitting his
name in the producer of the year nominees.
The aggrieved producer, Doctor Amir, who is the in-house producer for Kcee’s 5star Music produced the smash hit
single ‘Reggae Blues’ (A Song That Got Three Major Nominations) yet he did not get a nomination for the producer of the year category.
The beats maker took to his Instagram to express his grievances with the Headies organisers, listing the top
categories the songs were nominated for and registering his dismay at his omission.
“Give to ceazar wat belongs to ceazer abeg!!! so am checking the headies nomination list and a song I produced
REGGAE blues BY Harrysong FT OLAMIDE ,KCEE, IYANYA, AND OREZI was nominated FOR THREE CATEGORIES AT THE HEADIES AWARD
1. SONG OF THE year
2. BEST POP single OF THE YEAR
3. BEST COLLABORATION OF THE YEAR
“AND I STILL DIDNT GET A nomination FOR THE PRODUCER OF THE year AHHHH AHHHHH NAWA ALTLEAST A NOMINATION”, shout out to djcoublon
youngjohn mastercraft pheels and oscar hmnnnn IF OSCAR CAN BE IN that NOMINATION LIST then i don’t see
WHY Dr Amir is not there … I MEAN THE SONG OSCAR is nominated for is not even HALF AS SUCCESSFUL as REGGAE BLUES THE SONG I produced . ITS JUST CRAZY HEADIES!!! BUT well God dey . Would work harder next year . God bless all my fans and supporters , am coming for everything next year,”
